I made an attempt to create a mignonette, because I like the spidery appearance of this model :
most rings are joined to a bare thread and I stopped quickly in developing the model, because it is quite difficult, even with a gauge to do exactly the same size for each one.....

That is just beautiful!
RépondreSupprimerIt immediately reminded me of the styles of the '40's and old b/w movies where women had glamourous hairstyles, smoked cigarettes in long holders, wore nylon stockings and platform toeless shoes and sported sexy black lace veils! I am such a romantic, n'est-ce pas?
Anyway, your tatting brought all that on... Love it.
Fox : )
Fox: Thank you ! I'm also very romantic and I feel like in a movie when I read your comment very colorful!

I found that the thread you use makes a difference. For mignonette you need a stiffer thread. The new lizbeth thread would actually be very good. I also found it was necessary to peridically block as I went. This is meant to be stiffened and doesn't look right you are finished.
RépondreSupprimerHi Victat : thank you for your comm. Yes I use DMC Thread n°80, which is very fine, but I could use thread Nr. ... I'll try it again, sure !
RépondreSupprimerI don't know what a mignonette is. To me it looks like a very "wild thing".. Your work from Teiko Fujiko's book is very inspiring and I intend to buy it too, as your doilies look great
