I began this child's small cap, I had to adapt it. I am not sure that I manage to make it for the good dimensions... If I do not manage to make this model, I shall transform it into holdall !
I am very interested to see how your cap looks when it is done. I am currently working on a baby bonnet ( you can see it on my blog ) as well and I am having such trouble with the old pattern! Where did you find yours? Fox : )
This looks like the same vintage pattern I got from Tatman's site and I do remember it is by C.B.Platt. I've had to adapt the pattern too. My blog is on hiatus right now but you can see the beginning. It was the row after that, which I'm working on now, that I had to change. It called for 9 picots but I can only see 5 in the photo and the joins in the photo are not what the directions say.
